Thiemo Storz (born October 12, 1991 in Tettnang ) is a German automobile racing driver . He competed in Formula 2 in 2011 .

Career

At the age of 12, Thiemo Storz began his career in German karting (Bambini A). After a few years of experience, he won the Swiss Kart Championship ( ICA Junior ) in 2006 . For the kart brand CRG from Italy he took part in the international races of the World Series Kart ("WSK") and the Italy Open in 2006, 2007 and 2008 . In 2007 he finished the Swiss Kart Championship in his first year in the category "KF2" in 3rd place. In 2008, Storz also made his first experiences in formula racing for CO2 Motorsport and was initially 14th in the Italian Formula 2000 Light. He then took part in two winter championships and was fourth in the Italian Formula 2000 Light and seventh in the Italian Formula Renault . In 2009 Storz competed in several racing series for CO2 Motorsport. He was most successful in the Italian Formula 2000 Light, in which he was runner-up with three victories and won the Tatuus 2000 classification . He was on the podium four times in the Swiss Formula Renault and finished the season in third place overall. He also finished 24th in the Italian Formula Renault.

In 2010 Storz interrupted his motorsport career to complete his school education. This year he only took part in one Formula Palmer Audi race weekend and already finished his first race in second place on the podium. He also achieved the fastest race lap. He finished 24th in the drivers' championship. After Storz had already participated in test drives in the FIA Formula 2 championship in winter , he announced in early 2011 that he would be competing in this championship. With a sixth place as the best result, he was twelfth.
