Thiermondingen
Thiermondingen (also Tiermendingen, Diermundingen) is a lost town between Vörstetten , Reute and Denzlingen . It is located in the municipality of Vörstetter.
history
The settlement was first mentioned in a document by King Heinrich II in 1008 in the Wildbann description and, as far as we know today, it consisted of several courtyards and a St. Nicholas' chapel. Until 1276 it belonged to the Schuttern monastery , after which it fell to the Freiburg German rulers . The village has almost completely disappeared since the 16th century, only the Dermondinger Hof existed from 1512 until 1733. However, the name of the Dermedinger Wäldele , located in Vörstetter district, still testifies to its existence today.
In 2008 a memorial plaque was erected on the occasion of the thousandth anniversary of the first mention.
