Thierry Cabrera
Thierry Cabrera (born June 5, 1964 ) is a former Belgian table tennis player . He is a multiple Belgian champion.
Career
From 1981 to 2003 Thierry Cabrera took part in ten world championships . His greatest success was fourth place at the 1991 World Cup with the Belgian team. He has been nominated for European championships several times . He won many titles at the national Belgian championships, around 1984, 1990 and 1991 in singles and in 1991 and 1996 in doubles with Frederic Sonnet and Hunag Jian Guo.
In 1984 he was signed by the German second division club DJK Käfertal. After a few intermediate positions, he moved from St. Maur (France) in 1990 to the German Bundesliga for Borussia Düsseldorf, with whose team he became German champion in 1992 and the European Cup in 1991 and 1992 . In 1992 he left Borussia Düsseldorf and joined the Belgian club Royal Mouscron and later the Royal Villette Charleroi . In 1996 he was signed by 1. FC Bayreuth , in 1997 he joined the Austrian club TTV Hornstein.
Private
Thierry Cabrera has a daughter (* 1991) with his partner at the time, the Belgian table tennis player at Post SV Düsseldorf Ingrid Besson.
