Thierry Gathuessi (born April 17, 1982 in Bafoussam , Cameroon ) is a former Cameroonian football player.

Between 2001 and 2005, the right wing midfielder played at HSC Montpellier . In 2005 he moved to AS Cannes , where he stayed for a year and then moved to FC Sète in the French third division . In 2007 he was hired by the Scottish first division club Hibernian Edinburgh . The Cameroonian scored his first goal for the Hibs in a 3-2 win over top club Celtic Glasgow . In the summer of 2009, his contract was not renewed and was without a club for six months before he was hired by the Raith Rovers . In 2010 he went to Indonesia, where he played until the end of his career at the end of 2016 and won the championship once.

In 2004, Gathuessi completed his only international match for Cameroon .

Because of his aggressive style of play, Hibernian fans often call Gathuessi Hong Kong Thierry , following the comic book character Hong Kong Pfui .
