Thierry Pomel (born October 4, 1957 in Saumur , Maine-et-Loire ) is a former French show jumper and trainer.

Private

Pomel comes from an equestrian family. He is married and has two children: Julie and Margaux.

Career

At the age of twelve he rode his first tournaments.

In 1993 he finished 5th with the French team at the European Championships in Hickstead, in 1997 the team reached 4th place in Mannheim. At the 1998 World Equestrian Games in Rome , he won the silver medal in both the individual and the team.

At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2000 he finished fourth with the team.

Pomel was last active in international sports in 2009. At the Mediterranean Games in Italy in July 2009, he was the team boss, under his leadership the French team ( Julien Gonin , Simon Delestre , Alexandra Flancart , Olivier Guillon ) won team gold.
