Simon Delestre (born June 21, 1981 in Metz ) is a French show jumper and Nations Cup rider .
Private
He is the son of the former show jumper Marcel Delestre.
Career
In 1999 he became French junior champion. A year later he won gold with the team at the Young Riders.
Since 2009 Delestre has achieved many international successes in Grand Prix with his horses Mélodie Ardente , Couletto and Napoli du Ry , for example 3rd place at CSIO 5 * Gijón 2009, 3rd place in CSI 5 * -W Mechelen 2010, 3rd place in CSI 5 * Brussels 2010 2 and at the CSI 5 * -W Bordeaux 2011 place 2.
At the Mediterranean Games in Italy in July 2009, he won team gold with Julien Gonin , Alexandra Flancart and Olivier Guillon , and Thierry Pomel was the head of the team . He also won the gold medal in the individual ranking. In 2011, Simon Delestre was an integral part of the French teams in the FEI Nations Cup .
At the 2012 Summer Olympics he is part of the French team at the Olympic Games for the first time . In the first round of the team classification he was the unlucky person of the day. His reins tore before the last obstacle, so he was denied a clear lap. However, despite the broken reins, he managed to overcome the final obstacle with his horse Napoli du Ry in the second attempt . Two years later at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy , he won the silver medal with the French team.
At his first European championships in the age group of "riders", 2015 in Aachen , Delestre won the bronze medal in the individual with Ryan des Hayettes .
