FEI Nations Cup 2011

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The FEI Nations Cup 2011 was the third season of the FEI Nations Cup (formerly Meydan FEI Nations Cup ) as the successor to the Samsung Super League . He stands in a tradition of Nations Cup tournaments in show jumping that has lasted for over a hundred years.

Course of the tournament series

The series ran from May 13th to August 26th in 2011. The final exam took place in Rotterdam for the first time.

The tournaments took place in Europe, eight of the best nations in show jumping were eligible to start. At the end of the season, two national teams - Denmark and the United States - relegated to the "FEI Nations Cup Promotional Leagues", a kind of "second league" of the show jumping nations' cup. These couches then resulted in two promoted teams in the 2012 season. In the 2011 season, these were the teams from Belgium and Denmark.

All eight tests took place in the context of CSIO 5 * tournaments, the highest category in show jumping.

The special stages took place on Friday afternoons. The exception to this was the Nations Cup at the CHIO Aachen , which takes place on Thursday evening with media coverage.

The tests were advertised as a jumping competition with two identical rounds and a possible jump- off, the height of the obstacles is up to 1.60 meters. These exams are each endowed with 200,000 . Four riders represented their country in each Nations Cup, and the worst result per nation was deleted for each round. The penalty points of the remaining riders were added. If two or more teams were in first place after two laps, there was a jump-off for victory.

media

In German-speaking countries, Eurosport showed a one-hour summary of the Nations Cup on one of the following Wednesday evenings. The exams were also regularly broadcast live in their respective host countries.

In addition, the FEI broadcast all of the series' national prizes on its website for a fee.

5th exam: Germany

The German Nations Cup tournament took place in Aachen he Soers . The main stadium in Aachen was the venue for the show jumping competitions at the CHIO Aachen . The CHIO took place over two weeks from July 8th to 17th.

In very stormy and rainy weather, the special stage of the FEI Nations Cup took place under floodlights on the evening of July 14, 2011. As a result of this weather there were many drops in the second lap. The Danish team did not come close to the performances of the other teams again, the Belgians fell short of expectations and were eliminated in the second round.

In contrast to the other national awards in the series, the German Nations Cup was endowed with € 220,000.
