Thoas (sculptor)
Thoas ( ancient Greek Θόας ) was a Greek sculptor from the Pamphylian city of Side , who around 170 BC. Was active.
Thoas is only known by his signature on a statue base found on the Acropolis of Lindos on the island of Rhodes . The base is made of Lartic marble and carried a bronze portrait statue in honor of an Actaion, the son of Ex [Akestos]. The statue was consecrated by the demos of the Polis Lindos to the city goddess Athena Lindia and Zeus Polieus .
