The Thomas Müntzer Medal was the highest award of the Association of Mutual Farmers Aid (VdgB) in the German Democratic Republic , which was donated in 1986 in three stages. The award was made for outstanding achievements in the association in bronze , silver or gold . The medal with a diameter of 32 mm shows on its obverse the portrait of the head of Thomas Müntzer looking to the right as well as the upper inscription: THOMAS MÜNTZER MEDAL . The reverse of the medal shows the above three-line lettering FOR / OUTSTANDING / LEISTUNGEN , under which the symbol of the VdgB can be seen. The maker's mark A can be read on the upper edge of the medal . The medal was worn on the upper left side of the chest on a dark green rectangular cloth-covered clasp. A 2 mm wide vertical central stripe is woven into it on both sides, which is 3 mm from the hem and is red for the bronze level, white-gray for the silver level and golden yellow for the gold level. In addition, the VdgB symbol is placed on a round medallion in the middle of the clasp, which has the same texture as the awarded level. The interim clasp is of the same quality.
