Thomas Balmer (born June 4, 1976 ) is a former Swiss football player.
Career
After his junior years at GC Zurich, he played three games for the first team and finally moved to Winterthur, then to FC Baden and finally to FC Wil, with whom he was promoted to the then NLA. At FC Wil he played in November 2002, among other things, in the highest scoring football match in the top Swiss league against FC St. Gallen , which Wiler won 11: 3. In 2003 Balmer moved to this same FC St. Gallen. In 2005 he ended his career at the age of 28 after he had no more prospects at FC St. Gallen.
Private
Balmer has a twin brother, Stephan , who was also a professional footballer. Together they played in the juniors at GC, and later at Winterthur and Baden. Then the ways parted; Stephan moved to Thun, while Thomas Balmer moved to FC Wil.
