Thomas Dörschel

Thomas Dörschel (* 1964 in Leipzig ) is a German pianist , arranger and composer .

Life

Thomas Dörschel, who since 1988 has lived in Berlin, recorded from June 1994 to July 2003, most of the arrangements and recordings for the German cabaret singer Tim Fischer responsible. During this time he was the musical director of all of Tim Fischer's major projects. He appeared with Tim Fischer in a total of over a thousand concerts in Germany, France (1997) and the USA (1999). He arranged and was the musical director of the world premiere of the Georg Kreisler piece Adam Schaf hat Angst 2002 at the Berliner Ensemble and thus also performed at the Vienna Theatertreffen in 2003.

In 2002 he created the soundtrack for the French film Deux, produced under the direction of Werner Schroeter , with Isabelle Huppert in a double role. In 2005 the CD Nachtschwärmer of the Dana Mhon project followed together with Thomas Stapel. Published CD: Nachtschwärmer (VielliebRekords). Since 2004, Thomas Dörschel has concentrated on chamber music (works by Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Beethoven, Schubert, Mozart, Ravel, Mihaud, his own works, etc.) concerts with the Berlin violinist Theodor Flindell . Since January 2018 renewed collaboration with the German chansonnier Tim Fischer. On January 15, 2018, the premiere of the new program "The Old Beautiful Songs" was at the Münster Theater.
