Thomas Einwallner

Thomas Einwallner (born January 10, 1979 in Judenburg ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). From 2005 to 2006 he was a member of the Federal Council , from 2006 to 2008 and from 2011 to 2013 a member of the Austrian National Council .

education

Thomas Einwallner attended elementary school in Oberwölz between 1985 and 1989 and then graduated from Oberwölz secondary school. In 1993 he moved to the Bundesoberstufenrealgymnasium in Murau , which he completed in 1998 with the Matura. Then Einwallner did his military service and began studying veterinary medicine in Vienna in 1999 until he became regional chairman of the young ÖVP Styria on November 25, 2000. Einwallner has been an employee since May 2008.

Political career

Thomas Einwallner began his political career as the local chairman of the Young ÖVP Oberwölz (1998-2004). In 1999 he was promoted to district chairman of the young ÖVP Murau and one year later he became JVP regional chairman in Styria. He held this office until 2012. Between 2001 and 2004, Einwallner was Federal Deputy Federal Deputy of the Young ÖVP Austria, since 2004 he has been District Party Deputy of the ÖVP Murau. On October 25, 2005, Thomas Einwallner entered the Federal Council as a representative of Styria. After the 2006 National Council election , Einwallner moved to the National Council as a member of the National Council on October 30, 2006 through a mandate from the Styrian constituency. He represented the ÖVP in the sports, families, national defense, court of audit, tourism and transport committees. In the National Council election on September 28, 2008, the ÖVP lost 8.3 percentage points, as a result of which Thomas Einwallner lost his mandate.

Einwallner was again a member of the National Council from August 30, 2011 to September 30, 2013. He accepted the mandate of the resigned Ursula Plassnik .

In the legislative period up to 2013 he was a member of the following committees: Committee of the Court of Auditors; Research, Innovation and Technology Committee; Human Rights Committee; Committee on Petitions and Citizens' Initiatives; Sports Affairs Committee.

Private

Einwallner lives in a community and is the father of a son.
