Thomas Ertelt
Thomas F. Ertelt (born January 1, 1955 in Weingarten ) is a German musicologist and institute director at the State Institute for Music Research in Berlin .
Life
Thomas Ertelt completed his studies in musicology (with Rudolf Stephan ) and German at the Free University of Berlin . In 1989 he received his doctorate with his work on Alban Berg's opera Lulu .
In 1992 Ertelt went to the Musikinstrumenten-Museum Berlin of the State Institute for Music Research Berlin (SIMPK), where he has been the successor to Dagmar Droysen-Reber since 1994 in leading positions.
Ertelt's research focuses primarily on the music of the Vienna School and the history of music theory . He is editor of the history of music theory , the correspondence of the Vienna School and the series Klang und Term .
