Conny Restle
Conny Restle (born November 18, 1960 in Munich ) is a German musicologist , museum director and university lecturer at the Berlin University of the Arts .
Life
Restle passed the Abitur in 1980 at the humanistic Wilhelmsgymnasium in Munich . From 1980 to 1985 she studied musicology, Latin philology of the Middle Ages and German philology of the Middle Ages at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . After completing her studies with a Magister Artium, she worked for the Society for Bavarian Music History from 1986 to 1989. In 1989 Restle received his doctorate in musicology with a thesis on Bartolomeo Cristofori and the beginnings of the hammer piano .
From 1989 to 1991 she was scientific assistant and responsible for coordinating the research project " Harpsichord - Hammerclaviere" of the Austrian Fund for the Promotion of Scientific Research in Vienna. In 1992 Restle went to the Musical Instrument Museum of the State Institute for Music Research Berlin (SIMPK) and has been a manager there since 1994.
Since 2002 Restle has been director of the Musical Instrument Museum and university professor at the same time. In 2012 she was appointed honorary professor at the Berlin University of the Arts .
Her main research interests include not only keyboard instruments, but also instruments from antiquity, the Middle Ages and the 16th to early 20th centuries. In addition, she devoted herself to research on acoustics and historical performance practice .
Restle is a member of the editorial board of musica instrumentalis - magazine for organology .
