Thomas Freyer (theologian)

Thomas Freyer (born March 17, 1952 in Braunschweig ) is a German theologian.

Life

He studied from 1972 to 1980 theology , including in Bonn and Paderborn . In 1981 he received his doctorate in theology. He was ordained a deacon the following year and a priest the following year. He then served the Catholic Church for four years as a chaplain before he was released to study for his habilitation. In 1992 he received his habilitation. From 1997 until his retirement in 2011, Thomas Freyer was Professor of Dogmatics at the University of Tübingen .
