Thomas GG Senghore

Thomas Gregory George Senghore (* 1936 ) is a Gambian economist . He was Central Bank - Governor in the West African country Gambia .

Life

Senghore studied economics at the University of Leeds , UK, where he earned a degree in development administration. In 1972 he became State Secretary in the Ministry of Labor and Communication and in 1974 he took over the position of State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Trade. In 1977 he was the deputy governor of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).

He was governor of the Central Bank of Gambia from May 1982 to February 1988 , when he retired. He had served as commissioner in four of the regions.
