Mamour Malick Jagne

Mamour Malick Jagne (*) is a Gambian economist and banker. He was briefly Central Bank - Governor in the West African country Gambia .

Life

Jagne attended Armitage Senior Secondary School .

He worked for the Gambian government for over 20 years, including in the 1980s as State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. Under the Dawda Jawara government , Jagne served as Divisional Commissioner in the MacCarthy Island Division (now Governor ). From February 1988 to 1989 he was Governor of the Central Bank of Gambia

After working as Managing Director of the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Jagne returned to Gambia and founded the Arab Gambian Islamic Bank (AGIB) and became its Managing Director , a post he held until the end of October 2008. He is Executive Secretary of Gambia Bankers Association and Chancellor of the Institute of Bankers of The Gambia . He is also chairman of the Gambia Revenue Authority .
