Thomas Grünberger

Thomas Grünberger (born February 23, 1964 ) is an Austrian surgeon and university professor .

Life

In 2002 , Grünberger completed his habilitation in surgery at the University of Vienna on the subject of "New findings in the surgical therapy of patients with liver metastases ". His main focus is on liver surgery - he has carried out the largest number of liver operations in Austria - as well as the multidisciplinary management of liver metastases from colon carcinoma and gall bladder and bile duct carcinoma. Grünberger does intensive research in the field of oncology , which is reflected in over 90 scientific publications and in more than 100 invitations to give lectures abroad.

He is currently head of the 1st surgical department at the Rudolf Foundation in Vienna. Since 2002 he has been a board member of the Austrian Society of Surgical Oncology (ASSO) and since 2008 a board member of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO).

Since 2005 he has been working with the doctor and private lecturer Birgit Grünberger, geb. Schüll, married and has two children.
