Lunatic Invasion was a German death metal band from Königs Wusterhausen , which was founded in 1988 under the name Kindl-Front and dissolved around 1995.
history
The band was founded in 1988 by the guitarist Michael Wulfert and the drummer "Maja" Majewski under the name Kindl-Front. Together with friends Lemon (e-bass) and Tino (vocals) they initially played cover versions of Septic Death , Napalm Death and Death . A short time later the band renamed itself to Lunatic Invasion and now consisted of Wulfert and Majewski, bassist Denny Hellbach and singer Steffen Ramlow. In 1989 the first two demos followed with Incest with the Closet Wall and Die elf Tode. In 1991 she joined the EP Destined to Die and a split release with Agathocles . In 1992 the debut album The Selected Ones was released , followed by the second album Totentanz in autumn 1995 . Then the band broke up.
style
The band played classic grindcore from 1989 to 1991 with guttural German vocals and instruments that were played extremely quickly. On the EP Destined to Die , the group then turned to death metal. On The Selected Ones you could hear not only normal Death Metal but also The Fall and Enslaved in Darkness, two Gothic songs. The use of a synthesizer and a keyboard was also unusual for the album . On the second album Totentanz , Gothic and Doom Metal influences could be heard. The lyrics on it were mostly German, with the singing being grindcore-like. Majewski described the music on the album as follows: “Our music is a mixture of Death Metal, but much more varied, Grind Influences, Dark Metal , but much darker, more satanic than Black Metal , melodic through Heavy Metal influences, with an enormous pinch of orchestral and medieval additions ”. As the main reason for the change from Grindcore to varied Death Metal, Majewski gave the guitarist Wulfert, who is interested in all kinds of music and whose influences would include bands like Dead Can Dance and Laibach .
