Thomas Grumme

Thomas Grumme (* 1939 in Göttingen ; † 2007 ) was a German neurosurgeon . He was chief physician and professor for neurosurgery at the Augsburg Clinic (today Augsburg University Clinic ).

Grumme received his doctorate in Göttingen in 1964 ( The pituitary adenoma: clinical picture, course, prognosis, treatment ). From the founding of the Neurosurgical Clinic at the Augsburg Clinic in 1982 until his retirement in 2003, he was its chief physician.

Grumme is the co-author of a standard work on complications (and medical errors) in neurosurgery. He was also known as one of the leading experts in brain diagnostics with the introduction of computed tomography in Germany.

In 2002 he received the Wilhelm Tönnis Medal .
