Thomas Hax-Schoppenhorst

Thomas Hax-Schoppenhorst (born October 23, 1955 in Essen ) is a German non-fiction author and educator.

Career

Hax-Schoppenhorst grew up in Recklinghausen . He studied at the Ruhr University in Bochum. He did his community service in Münster. After several trips to South America, he published articles in development policy journals. He wrote three children's books, three volumes of caricatures, a book on Germany's future viability (ecology), the first German-language non-fiction book on the subject of “child soldiers” and a workbook on forensic psychiatry, as well as non-fiction books on psychological crises in young people, the nature of friendship, sibling relationships and more Violence in schools. He also published a book on fear in 2014. The Depression Book for Nursing and Health Professions was published by Hogrefe in 2016 . He works regularly for various magazines. In 2020 he was appointed to the Enquête Commission of the State Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia as an expert on mental health.

Hax-Schoppenhorst is married and has two children. He lives with his family in Düren and works full time as a teacher at the LVR clinic in Düren.
