Thomas Heinen

Thomas Heinen (* 1978 ) is a German sports scientist and university lecturer .

Life

Heinen from Stolberg studied at the German Sport University in Cologne , where his doctoral thesis was accepted in 2005, the title was "Mental representations and kinematics of movements - an interdisciplinary approach to the analysis of structural and functional relationships in the organization of movement". He then worked as a research assistant at Bielefeld University, his habilitation (title: “Visuomotor contingencies in the selection, control and acquisition of complex movement activities in sport”) was awarded the 2013/2014 DOSB Science Prize. Heinen was a professor at the Institute for Sports Science (Department of Education & Social Sciences) at the University of Hildesheim , and in 2016 he switched to a professorship for movement and training science in sports with a focus on gymnastics and martial arts at Leipzig University .

Heinen's research focuses on movement behavior, movement learning in gymnastics, self-efficacy in competition situations, modeling training,

Since 2014 Heinen has been a member of the management of the apparatus gymnastics commission of the German Association for Sports Science .
