Thomas Hellbrück

Thomas Hellbrück (born March 14, 1959 in Saarlouis ) is a German politician and former member of the CDU . From 1999 to 2004 he was a member of the Saarland state parliament .

Life and work

Thomas Hellbrück graduated from Hargarten elementary and secondary school in Reimsbach from 1965 to 1973 . This was followed by a commercial basic vocational training year in 1973/74 and training as a businessman from 1974 to 1977. Shortly afterwards, he trained as a nurse from 1978 to 1981. In this profession he worked from 1981 to 1989 as an operating theater nurse at the St. Elisabeth Clinic in Saarlouis and from 1989 to 1999 again as an operating theater nurse at the St. Elisabeth Clinic in Wadern .

He is Roman Catholic, married and has two children

Thomas Hellbrück joined the Junge Union in 1973 and was its deputy chairman for a long time. In 1981 he joined the CDU and since 1985 has been chairman of his party in the Hargarten branch and since 1994 chairman of the Beckingen community association . From 1999 to 2004 he was a member of the Saarland state parliament . There he was, among other things, the agricultural policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group.

In 2009 Hellbrück resigned from the CDU and stated that he wanted to join the FDP .
