Thomas J. Pinnavaia

Thomas J. Pinnavaia (also Thomas Pinnavaia or Thomas Joseph Pinnavaia ; born February 16, 1938 in Buffalo , New York ) is an American physicist in the field of materials science .

Pinnavaia received her AAS from the Erie County Technical Institute in 1957 and her BA from SUNY Buffalo in 1962 . In 1967 he received his Ph.D. from Cornell University . He was then from 1966 at Michigan State University, where he has been University Distinguished Professor since 1997. From 1989 to 1992 he was director of the MSU Center for Fundamental Materials Research. He is the Chief Science Officer of InPore Technologies .

Pinnavaia holds 35 patents.
