Thomas Kaufmann (born August 23, 1965 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and lawyer . Kaufmann was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from 2012 to 2014 .

Thomas Kaufmann studied law at the University of Innsbruck and was an assistant at the Institute for Commercial, Corporate and Competition Law during his studies. After promotion to Doctor of Law ( Doctor of Law. He has worked as the lecturer in Intermedia at) Fachhochschule Vorarlberg busy. He has been registered in the list of attorneys at the Vorarlberg Bar Association since 1998 . He is currently working as a lawyer in a Bregenz law firm.

After the resignation of the President of the Landtag, Bernadette Mennel, from the Vorarlberg Landtag as a result of her move as Provincial Councilor to the Vorarlberg Provincial Government , Thomas Kaufmann was sworn in on December 12, 2012 as her successor to the vacant ÖVP Landtag mandate in the Bregenz constituency . In the state parliament of the 29th legislative period, Kaufmann subsequently took on the role of ÖVP spokesman for the environment. In the run-up to the 2014 state elections , Thomas Kaufmann announced that he would not run again for the state parliament and therefore resigned from the state parliament on October 15, 2014 when the new state parliament members were sworn in.

The single lawyer lives in Kennelbach , where he was Vice Mayor from 2009 to 2015, and has a daughter.
