Thomas Kies (born October 16, 1975 in Karlsruhe ) is a former German football player.

Athletic career

He comes from the offspring of SpVgg Durlach-Aue, from there he switched to the youth team at Karlsruher SC (until 1994). This was followed by positions at VfB Stuttgart (1994-2000), SVW Mannheim (2000/01), SSV Reutlingen 05 (2001-2003), and again Karlsruher SC (2003-2007), with whom he was promoted to the Bundesliga could. For the 2007/08 season, Kies received no new contract with KSC and was then for nine years (until the end of the 2015/16 season) player-coach at his home club SpVgg Durlach-Aue in the district and association league.
