Thomas Kohlhase

Thomas Kohlhase (born July 10, 1941 in Hagen ) is a German musicologist and professor at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen . He dealt in particular with the series Erbe deutscher Musik and the oeuvre of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky .

Live and act

From 1967 to 2008 Thomas Kohlhase was editor of the memorial edition “ The Heritage of German Music ”. He is also the editor of numerous critical editions and the author of studies focusing on Gregorian semiology , Johann Sebastian Bach , The Music of the Dresden Court Church at the time of Johann David Heinichen and Jan Dismas Zelenka . In addition, Kohlhase is a specialist in Russian music, especially the works of Tchaikovsky .
