The legacy of German music

The Heritage of German Music is a series of monuments on German music history that has been published since 1935, first in Leipzig by Peters. The series can be seen as the continuation of the monuments of German musical art founded under National Socialism , a sub-series are the imperial monuments of German music. The work is counted by volumes and departments: Volume 8, i.e. H. The 2nd part of the Glogau songbook is in section 7 (Middle Ages) of volume 3.

The series was originally published by the State Institute for German Music Research (today: State Institute for Music Research), currently as a series of monuments on German music history, published by the Music History Commission e. V., Institute for Musicology at the University of Regensburg , Editions Director Wolfgang Horn.

The ten sections (see 2nd column) are subdivided as follows: 1 orchestral music; 2 motet and mass; 3 polyphonic song; 4 opera and solo singing; 5 chamber music; 6 organ, piano, lute; 7 Middle Ages; 8 selected works by individual masters; 9 oratorio and cantata; 10 Early Romanticism (the first two volumes are special volumes).
