Leonhard Kleber

Leonhard Kleber (* 1495 in Göppingen ; † March 4, 1556 ) was a German organist and composer of the Renaissance .

Life

Kleber studied in Heidelberg in 1512 and was a pupil of the blind, then very famous composer Arnolt Schlick . After his studies, he worked first in Horb am Neckar , then in Esslingen and finally in Pforzheim . In his compositional work, influences from Paul Hofhaimer , Hayne van Ghizeghem , Heinrich Isaac , Josquin Desprez , Jacob Obrecht , Antoine Brumel , Heinrich Finck , Ludwig Senfl , Hans Buchner and a few others can be seen. A large part of his works can be assigned to vocal music.
