Ludwig Daser
Ludwig Daser (* around 1526 in Munich ; † March 27, 1589 in Stuttgart ) was a German conductor and composer.
He was educated in the Munich court choir and received the position of Kapellmeister there in 1552. When he converted to Protestantism, he lost this position and was forced to leave Munich. Since Duke Christoph von Württemberg was one of the leaders of Protestantism at that time , he found employment at the court orchestra in Stuttgart and was also entrusted with the position of Kapellmeister there in 1572, which he held until his death.
He created 22 masses , 24 motets and other sacred works. In addition, he composed a four-part Passion , the text of which is based on a compilation of all four Gospels.
