Thomas Marshal Bibighaus

Thomas Marshal Bibighaus (born March 17, 1817 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , †  June 18, 1853 in Lebanon , Pennsylvania) was an American politician . Between 1851 and 1853 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Thomas Bibighaus attended the public schools in his home country. After studying law and being admitted to the bar in 1839, he began to work in this profession in Lebanon. Politically, he became a member of the Whig Party .

In the congressional election of 1850 Bibighaus in the 14th  constituency of Pennsylvania was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he succeeded Charles Wesley Pitman on March 4, 1851 . Since he renounced another candidacy for health reasons in 1852, he could only complete one legislative period in Congress until March 3, 1853 . This was shaped by the events leading up to the civil war .

After his time in the US House of Representatives, Thomas Bibighaus practiced law again. He died on June 18, 1853 in Lebanon, where he was also buried.
