Thomas Martin (cook)
Thomas Martin (born October 16, 1966 in Mannheim ) is a German chef .
Career
After completing his training, Martin moved to Windeck Castle in 1988 with Peter Wehlauer in Bühl and in 1990 to Lothar Eiermanns Friedrichsruhe in Zweiflingen . In 1991 he went to Munich to see Eckart Witzigmann in his aubergine . In 1994 Zur Traube followed with Dieter L. Kaufmann in Grevenbroich .
Martin has been head chef at the Jacobs Restaurant in the Hotel Louis C. Jacob in Hamburg since 1997 , where he has been awarded a Michelin star and 18 Gault Millau points for years . In 2011 he received two Michelin stars for the first time. In 2012, the Schlemmer Atlas gave him the top grade of 5 cooking spoons, making him one of the “Top Chefs of the Year”.
He is also the kitchen director of the Louis by Thomas Martin restaurant near the Elbphilharmonie .
