Thomas Reindl

Thomas Reindl (born September 3, 1961 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and union official. Since 1998 he has been a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council .

education and profession

Thomas Reindl attended the Plankenmaisstraße elementary school from 1968 and then switched to the AHS Bernoullistraße. After graduating from high school in 1982, Reindl studied business administration at the University of Vienna . Reindl graduated in 1988 with the degree Mag.rer.soc.oec. from. Reindl did his military service in 1987/88 at the air defense staff battery Groß-Enzersdorf and then started his professional career at the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB). He was a bank analyst and bank auditor until 1995 and was elected chairman of the Vienna works council and member of the OeNB general council in May 1996. Reindl has been Chairman of the Central Works Council at the OeNB since May 2000 and has been a member of the Presidium of the Finance Division of the Private Employees' Union since June 2000 .

Thomas Reindl was class representative, member of the school community committee and deputy head of the school. He joined the SPÖ in 1983 and in 1987 was elected chairman of Section 10 of the SPÖ Donaustadt and a member of the extended district board. From 1987 he represented the SPÖ in the Donaustadt district council as a district councilor and in 1994 took over the chairmanship of the environmental committee. In January 1998 Reindl moved to the Vienna State Parliament and City Council as a member. In the 18th legislative period, he is a member of the committees “Finance, Economic Policy and Wiener Stadtwerke”, “Education, Youth, Information and Sport” as well as deputy chairman of the control committee. Since March 2002, Reindl has also been a member of the Donaustadt district committee. He has been chairman of the Vienna City Council since 2015 .
