Thomas Renger

Thomas Renger (born March 7, 1970 in Zittau ) is a German physicist and professor of theoretical physics at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz .

Life

From 1989 to 1995 Thomas Renger studied theoretical physics at the Humboldt University in Berlin , Germany, and received his doctorate there in 1998. From 1999 to 2001, he was a Feodor Lynen Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the California Institute of Technology , Pasadena , USA . From 2002 to 2009 he headed a junior research group as part of the Emmy Noether Program of the German Research Foundation at the Institute for Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Free University of Berlin . Thomas Renger has been Professor at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at JKU Linz since 2009, where he heads the Department for Theoretical Biophysics.
