Thomas Rettke

Thomas Rettke (* 1960 ) is a German singer, songwriter and producer. He became known with the heavy metal band Heavens Gate, which he founded.

Life

Rettke founded his first own metal band Steeltower in 1982 . He wrote the majority of the songs for Steeltower and became their lead singer.

After a first demo recording, the band signed their first record deal a short time later. The album Night of the Dog was recorded in the Horus Sound Studio in Hanover in 1984 . The record sold over 10,000 times in Germany alone. The band broke up two years later. Rettke founded the band Heavens Gate in 1988 , which was particularly successful in Japan and South America. The band broke up in 1999 and Rettke founded the band Redkey in 2005 together with his former musician and producer Sascha Paeth and released the album Rage of Fire . Since then, Rettke has mainly worked in the studio as a vocal coach, choir singer and producer. He sang on productions for Avantasia , Edguy , Kamelot , Rhapsody of Fire , Aina and Victory .

Thomas was a guest on the Avantasia "The Mystery World Tour" 2013/2014 as lead and background singer .

Thomas Rettke lives in Wolfsburg .
