Thomas Sageder (born September 5, 1983 ) is an Austrian football coach .

Career

Sageder began his coaching career in the youth of SV Riedau . In the 2008/2009 season he coached the youth team at FC Red Bull Salzburg . A year later he acted as assistant trainer to Andreas Milot at AKA Ried .

Between 2010 and 2011 he trained at the Red Bull Academy in Ghana . In mid-2011 he became assistant coach of the second division club FC Blau-Weiß Linz . After relegation with the Linzers from professional football, he became assistant coach of the Bundesliga club SV Ried for the 2013/14 season .

After Oliver Glasner's leave of absence due to his upcoming move to LASK , he trained the team with Ewald Brenner on an interim basis until the end of the season in May 2015. In December 2015 he left SV Ried.

For the 2016/17 season, Sageder was the coach of the fourth-class SV Wallern . In December 2017 he returned as head coach at the now second-class FC Blau-Weiß Linz.

In March 2019, he resigned as a coach, at the time of resignation Linz was fourth after four defeats in a row.

For the 2019/20 season he became assistant coach under Oliver Glasner, whom he already supported at Ried, at the German Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg .
