Thomas Schlemmer

Thomas Schlemmer (born April 7, 1967 ) is a German historian and works at the Institute for Contemporary History Munich-Berlin. He lives in Taufkirchen near Munich .

Life

Thomas Schlemmer studied modern history , social and economic history and political science at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich , where he met in 1996 with a thesis on "The Christian Social Union 1945-1955" doctorate was. He was from 1993 to 2001 and has been a research assistant at the Institute for Contemporary History since July 2005 . In between he worked from 2001 to 2005 at the German Historical Institute in Rome . From 2009 to 2012 Thomas Schlemmer was a member of the German-Italian Commission of Historians . Since his habilitation in 2009, he has been teaching as a private lecturer at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. Thomas Schlemmer was appointed deputy editor-in-chief of the Vierteljahrshefte für Zeitgeschichte in 2016 and has been editor-in-chief since 2019.
