Thomas Schnitzer

Thomas Schnitzer (born November 22, 1955 in Breitenwang ) is an Austrian politician ( Bürgerforum Tirol-Klub ). He has been a member of the Tyrolean Parliament since 2008 and lives in Ehrwald . He is married and has two children.

Schnitzer attended elementary school from 1962 to 1967 and then a secondary school until 1971. As a result, he learned the trade of bricklayer in Garmisch-Partenkirchen between 1971 and 1974 and worked in 1975 in the profession he had learned. Schnitzer then graduated from a higher technical college for building construction from 1975, which he graduated in 1979 with the Matura . After completing his school education, Schnitzer worked as a construction technician between 1979 and 1981, and since 1981 he has been an official of the Tyrolean Employment Service in Reutte . He also worked as a freelancer in architecture offices until 1989.

Schnitzer was a member of the Ehrwald parish council from 1986 to 1989 and held the office of deputy mayor between 1989 and 1992. From 1992 to 2010 he was mayor of Ehrwald and also holds the position of EUREGIO vice-president.
