Thomas Seilner

Thomas Seilner (born December 14, 1957 in Wadgassen ) is a German athlete and politician ( CDU ).

Seilner graduated from high school in 1978 and studied chemistry at Saarland University , where he also did language training in Polish and Russian . He was a technical employee in environmental and radiation protection monitoring in nuclear facilities.

Seilner was several times Saarland champion in long distance and cross-country skiing. In 1979 he took part in the military world championships over 5000 m in Algiers and finished seventh. In 1981 he took fourth place at the Student World Games over 3000 m in the hall in Sofia .

In 1974 Seilner became a member of the Junge Union , in 1976 of the CDU. From 1990 to 1993 he was regional chairman of the Junge Union Saar and in 1991 became deputy district chairman in Saarlouis and from 1993 local chairman in Wadgassen. From 1990 to 1999 he sat in the Saarland state parliament .

Seilner is the deputy chairman of the Saarland Athletics Association.
