Frankie Negrón was born in Newark in 1977 to Francisco Negrón Santos and Zaida Gonzalez.

Stylistically, he belongs to the group of musicians like Huey Dunbar , Charlie Cruz, Kevin Ceballo and Obie Bermudez, who brought elements of pop , rock , gospel music , R&B , hip-hop and reggaeton to the salsa. For the Broadway - Musical The Capeman Negrón took the soundtrack and in the independent film Boricua's Bond, which in the South Bronx plays, he made an appearance as a survivor. Musically, however, he is by far more successful as an actor, with "Con Amor Se Gana" and "No Me Compares" as well as nine other hits he has been among the Billboard Top 40 Hot Latin Tracks.

In 2006 his last salsa album to date, Mejor Que Nunca, was released.
