Kevin Ceballo

Kevin Ceballo (born 1977 in New York City ) is an American salsa singer of Puerto Rican descent.

Career

His parents immigrated from Puerto Rico to Manhattan , where Kevin Ceballo was born in 1977. They were of strict Protestant faith, took part in their community's gospel choir and forbade their son to listen to salsa or other light music. Kevin Ceballo became more and more interested in salsa despite his parents' ban. He pursued a singing career at New York High School of the Performing Arts and sang for a local salsa band in his spare time. In 1997 he joined the band of the pianist Isidro Infante, together they recorded the album "Licencia Para Engañar", which was released in 1998. Together with the band he had numerous international appearances. For La India he sang back-up on their CD “Sobre el Fuego”. In 2000 Kevin Ceballo started his solo career and produced "Mi Primer Amor", which contained other original compositions "Que Clase de Hombre" and "Quiero Bailar". With this album he got into the Latin Music Charts and received the title "New Artist of the Year". This was followed by joint appearances with Celia Cruz , Tito Puente and Eddie Palmieri. In 2002 he had a concert with Celia Cruz at the Verizon Music Festival in Washington DC and in 2003 he sang with Jimmy Bosch at New York's Copacabana Nightclub. In 2003 he recorded his fourth album "Yo Soy Ese Hombre" with Infante and Universal Records, which contained a salsa interpretation of the duet by Angela Via and Frankie Negrón from 2000 with the title "Eternamente Te Amaré" . “Yo Soy Ese Hombre” became a great success. In 2004 he was the main act at the "Latino Fest" in Patterson Park in Baltimore , Maryland .
