Jimmy Bosch

Jimmy Bosch , also known as El Trombon Criollo (born October 18, 1959 in Jersey City ) is an American musician of salsa , Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban music, trombonist, singer, band leader and composer.

Bosch came from a poor immigrant family from Puerto Rico with eleven children. As a teenager he played in local bands with Latin music (the merengue band Arcoires in Hoboken (New Jersey) ) and studied classical music at Rutgers University , where he began in the band of Manny Oquendo (Manny Oquendo Y Libre) to play, to which he remained loyal for twenty years with interruptions. He also played in the band of Israel Cachao since 1987, with whom he subsequently remained connected, with whom he toured and recorded. In the 1980s he played with Ray Barretto and in 1996 he founded his own orchestra (The Masters). He also tours solo and recorded four albums under his own name.

He also toured with Fania All Stars, Eddie Palmieri , Rubén Blades , Pete Rodríguez , Perfecta Combinacion, Son Del Solar, Celia Cruz , India , Cachao, Machito and others and plays in the Spanish Harlem Orchestra .
