Thomas Stindl (born January 28, 1966 in Graz ) is an Austrian extreme athlete . He is the father of two grown children and lives with his wife in Graz. He is employed by the pension insurance company , Styrian regional office. He is 1.86 m tall and weighs around 80 kg.
After he did very little sport in his youth, he first started running and took part in competitions up to the marathon distance in a good midfield . In 1996, hip pain forced him to stop running, whereupon he started cycling . Since then he has regularly taken part in ultra cycling races and brevets , which he mostly finished with podium places . Since he has been a regular at the top of the field, his fans usually call him "Turbo Tom" (based on the children's television series Tom Turbo ).

His greatest success was taking part in the 2008 World Ultra Bike Marathon Championship, where he won his age group. So far he has started for the clubs "RC Vychodil", "RC Judendorf" and the sports club " Langmann & Partner Powerteam . Since 2015 he has not been a club.
