Thomas Straub

Thomas Straub (born March 28, 1973 in Herrenberg ) is a German economist . He is Professor of International Management in the Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) at the University of Geneva , Switzerland. He was already Vice Dean and thus head of the entire further education (GSEM Executive).

Life

Straub graduated from the University of Konstanz and the Institut d'études politiques (IEP) in Grenoble with a diploma in 1999, and received his doctorate in 2006 with a thesis on reasons for frequent failure in mergers and acquisitions at the HEC (now the GSEM Faculty) of the University of Geneva . He was a professor at the Bern University of Applied Sciences , where he founded today's Competence Center Corporate and Business Development , which he also headed. From 2008 to 2015 he was Professor of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship and an elected member of the research commission at the HES-SO - Freiburg University of Economics (HSW). Today he is Professor of International Management at the Faculty of GSEM - Geneva School of Economics and Management, University of Geneva, Switzerland. As a professor, he had already been Vice Dean and Director of all continuing education at the Faculty of GSEM for several years.

Straub is also a visiting professor and president of the International Scientific Council ( English International Scientific Council ) at the UNESCO Department of the University of Bucharest . As co-director, he was operationally in charge of all continuing education programs at the University of Geneva. He is also a permanent visiting professor at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) and has been a lecturer at the Swiss Academy of Auditing for many years . He belongs u. a. Member of the Board of Trustees of the Swiss Society for Organization and Management (SGO - Foundation) and is a member of the Editorial Board / Reviewer of the journals Journal of Business Ethics , International Journal of Entrepreneurship (IJE), Journal of Strategy and Management (JSA), Journal of East European Management Studies (JEEMS) and Entrepreneurial Executive (EE).
