The Freiburg University of Economics (HSW-FR), French: Haute école de gestion Friborg ( HEG-FR ), English: School of Management Friborg , is a public university of economics on the Pérolles campus in Freiburg (Friborg) in Switzerland , which was founded in 1991 and belongs to the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO). With around 850 students - at bachelor, master and advanced level - the university orients itself successfully to the needs of national and international practice. Communicating international skills and promoting entrepreneurial thinking and acting are anchored in the vision and strategy of HSW-FR.
Institutes
The university offers full-time and part-time courses that lead to bachelor's or master's degrees. It is divided into four institutes and competence centers: The Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises , the Institute for Finance and the Institute for Social and Public Innovation.
Research projects
The university is involved in various national and international research projects such as the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor and offers various services to companies, public institutions and professional associations. University employees regularly present their research results at renowned international congresses such as the annual meeting of the Academy of Management or the Academy of International Business and publish them in scientific journals and textbooks.

The HSW Freiburg offers advanced training programs for executives in companies and public administration. These programs are either general or allow participants to specialize in a specific area. The courses are generally held in cooperation with other universities or professional associations recognized in Switzerland. The lecturers have extensive professional experience and are trained in adult education.
