Thomas Walter (born March 3, 1967 in Stuttgart ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper and today's goalkeeping coach .

Career

Walter started playing football at TSV Münchingen, then he played at VfB Stuttgart . In 1991 he moved to the KSC in the league. After two years he joined the Bundesliga team as a substitute goalkeeper. There he played a total of four games in the following two seasons. In 1996 he moved to the second division for the Stuttgarter Kickers . In the following three years it was used there 89 times. In 1999 he went back to Karlsruhe, where he was number two behind Simon Jentzsch and therefore only made four games. After relegation he became a regular goalkeeper, which he stayed a year later after being promoted back to the second division. Until 2004 he played 56 times for Karlsruhe in the second division. Then he ended his career.

Career as a coach

Following his active career, he first trained the goalkeepers at Karlsruher SC II and TSV Münchingen. Since March 2006 he has been the goalkeeping coach for the second team at VfB Stuttgart .
