Thomas von Scheele

Thomas von Scheele (born March 13, 1969 in Bollnäs ) is a Swedish table tennis player .

Career

Von Scheele became world champion in doubles in 1991 with Peter Karlsson . In 1996 he won the European Championship with the Swedish team .

He took part in the European Youth Championships three times, each time winning with the Swedish team. In 1983 he reached the final in singles and doubles (with Mats Andersson), in 1986 he was European Youth Champion singles.

Thomas von Scheele is left-handed. He played for the Swedish clubs IK Kometen (Bollnäs), Söderhamns UIF and Malmö FF . Because of back problems he had to quit competitive sports.

Today he works for the Swedish Table Tennis Association in the field of youth development. He lives in Malmö .
