Peter Karlsson (table tennis player)
Peter Karlsson (born May 29, 1969 in Stenstorp ) is a Swedish table tennis player . He is European champion in singles, world champion in doubles and multiple team world champion.
Karlsson first played in the Swedish national team in 1985. In the following years he was part of the national team, but was often only a substitute behind Waldner , Appelgren , Persson and Lindh .
Participation in world championships
Karlsson became world champion in doubles at the table tennis world championship in 1991 (together with Thomas von Scheele ). With the Swedish team he won gold medals at four world championships, namely in 1989 , 1991 , 1993 and 2000 ; In 1995 he won silver with the team, and in 2001 bronze.
Participation in European championships
At the European Championships in Bremen in 2000, Karlsson won the European title in singles. With the Swedish team, he finished first in 1990, 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2002.
More Achievements
In 1994 and 1995 Karlsson became Swedish champions. In 2002 he won the ITTF Pro Tour in Courmayeur / Italy. Further significant successes are 4th place in the World Cup 1993 , 2nd place 3 times in the Europe TOP-12 (1993, 1998, 2001) and 2nd place at the Croatia Open 2003.

Karlsson came in 1993 from Falkenbergs BTK , with whom he reached the final of the ETTU Cup in 1992, to Spvg Steinhagen in the German Bundesliga . He also played for various French clubs, such as Elan Nevers (until 2004), AS Pontoise-Cergy TT (2004-2005) and Levallois SC (2005).

Karlsson is married and has one daughter.
