Stenstorp is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Västra Götalands län and the historical province of Västergötland .
Stenstorp is located about 15 kilometers northeast of the city of Falköping on the main railway line Stockholm - Gothenburg in the municipality of Falköping . The place name (1397: Stødhungxstorp ) is probably a combination of the proper name Stødhing or Stødhung with torp (newly laid out farm).
The most famous son of the place is the inventor and Nobel Prize winner Gustaf Dalén , whose life and work there is also a museum in Stenstorp. The table tennis player Peter Karlsson was also born in the village .
