The Thonhauserfelsen is a 1020 m high rock ledge in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Bowers Mountains, it rises at the western end of Platypus Ridge .
Scientists of the German expedition GANOVEX I (1979–1980) made his name. It is named after the Austrian Werner Thonhauser, radio operator on the MS Schepelsturm on this research trip .
